What will you do as aCommunity Engagement Coordinatorat headspace?
Excellent question...some (but not all!) of theresponsibilitiesare:
Community Outreach & Awareness: Develop, implement, and evaluate strategies to raise awareness about youth mental health and help‐seeking behaviours within the community.
Event Coordination: Plan and coordinate community events such asYouth Week,Mental Health Monthand other activities, promoting headspace services to schools, community groups and agencies.
Program Delivery: Create and facilitatemental health literacy educationsessions and community training workshops for a range of target audiences, including young people, schools, and local businesses.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key community partners, including schools, health agencies, and local government organisations, to ensure effective service promotion and referral pathways.
Youth Engagement: Recruit and support young people in joining theYouth Reference Group, ensuring their input is included in service development and delivery.
Collaboration: Work alongside the headspace team and community partners to build strong networks, fostering collaboration across the youth sector.
Event Representation: Represent headspace at community events, networking meetings, and functions, which may require weekend or evening availability.
We're looking for an energetic and creativeCommunity Engagement Coordinatorthat can show us they have:
Community Engagement Experience: Proven experience in coordinating community events, promoting mental health awareness, and fostering relationships with diverse groups.
Passionate Advocate: A strong commitment to reducing stigma around mental health and promoting help‐seeking behaviours.
Strong Communicator: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and connect with young people, families, and community groups.
Organisational Skills: Excellent time management and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Creative Thinker: Ability to develop inclusive and engaging programs for diverse groups, including LGBTQIA+ communities, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities.
Tech‐Savvy: Experience using social media platforms and digital tools to engage with the community.
Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively within a dynamic team environment.
Driver's Licence: A current driver's license is required for this position
