About The Role
As Coordinator People & Culture, you will lead a small team of People & Culture and Health, Safety & Wellbeing professionals to deliver contemporary, people-focused services across Council.
Working in close partnership with leaders and employees, you will foster a safe, engaged and high-performing workforce while driving initiatives that strengthen organisational culture, workforce capability and employee wellbeing.
This is a hands‐on leadership role that combines strategic planning with operational excellence, providing expert advice, leading key people initiatives and ensuring best practice across the employee lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach and develop a small team of People & Culture and Health, Safety & Wellbeing professionals, ensuring effective service delivery and continuous capability development.
Partner with leaders across Council to provide expert HR, industrial relations and workplace safety advice, supporting a high-performing and engaged workforce.
Drive strategic people initiatives including workforce planning, recruitment, leadership development, employee engagement, gender equality and organisational culture.
Oversee Council's Health, Safety & Wellbeing programs, ensuring legislative compliance, continuous improvement and a proactive approach to employee wellbeing and workplace safety.
About You




You are an experienced People & Culture professional who enjoys leading a small team and partnering with leaders to build a positive, high-performing workplace.
With strong HR, employee relations and workplace health and safety expertise, you confidently balance strategic priorities with operational delivery while coaching others through change and complex people matters.
You are a collaborative, pragmatic leader who communicates effectively, builds trusted relationships and is committed to continuous improvement and employee wellbeing.
We're Looking For Someone Who Has
Proven experience leading and developing a small team, with the ability to coach, influence and build capability across the organisation.
Strong knowledge of contemporary Human Resources, Industrial Relations and Health, Safety & Wellbeing practices, with experience providing practical advice on complex people matters.
Excellent planning, problem-solving and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and drive continuous improvement.
A degree or diploma in Human Resource Management (or a related discipline), at least four years' HR experience.
Experience or an understanding of Local Government would be highly regarded, but not essential.
