Position: Telecommunications Field Engineer
Salary: $79,000 to 85,000 per annum plus 12% superannuation
Hours: 38 hours per week

The Chance
We are seeking an experienced Telecommunications Field Engineer (ANZSCO *******) to join our growing engineering team.
This role involves planning, commissioning, maintaining, and troubleshooting telecommunications infrastructure while ensuring high-quality project delivery and compliance with Australian industry standards.
The duties align with the ANZSCO occupation description for Telecommunications Field Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
• Install, commission and maintain telecommunications network infrastructure.
• Perform testing, fault diagnosis and performance optimisation of telecommunications equipment.
• Configure and integrate telecommunications systems with IP networks and enterprise infrastructure.
• Conduct fibre optic testing, splicing and commissioning.
• Support wireless, microwave and radio communication systems.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports and as-built records.




• Liaise with customers, contractors and project stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with WHS requirements and telecommunications standards.
• Provide technical support during network upgrades and deployments.
• Participate in field surveys, site inspections and commissioning activities.
Essential Skills & Experience
• Diploma, Advanced Diploma or higher qualification in Telecommunications, Electronics, Networking or related Engineering discipline.
• Experience with telecommunications field engineering activities.
• Knowledge of fibre optic, Ethernet, IP networking and wireless technologies.
• Experience with telecommunications testing equipment.
• Solid troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Current Australian Driver Licence.
• Ability to travel to project sites when required.
Desirable
• Experience with NBN, Telstra or carrier infrastructure projects.
• Experience in wireless, microwave or mobile network deployments.
• First Aid, Working at Heights, EWP, White Card or other industry certifications.
• Knowledge of Cisco, Juniper or similar networking platforms.
