About the role
The Lived Experience Design and Development team supports the implementation of mental health system reform and service innovation informed by lived expertise, intersectionality, human rights and social justice.
The team strengthens participation and co-design practice across Mind, including the Victorian Mental Health and Wellbeing Locals, by building the structures, processes and supports that enable meaningful community involvement.
We are seeking a passionate and organisedLived Experience Engagement Support Officerto provide high-quality coordination, administration and engagement support for Lived Experience Advisory Teams (LEATs) and other co-design and participation activities.
Drawing on your lived or living experience and commitment to social change, you will help create accessible, inclusive and meaningful opportunities for people to shape services and systems.
Key responsibilities
Coordinate recruitment, onboarding and participation processes for LEAT members and other lived experience groups.




Provide end-to-end administrative support including meeting coordination, agendas, minutes, communications and participant payments.
Support the planning and delivery of training, workshops, co-design activities and community engagement initiatives.
Build and maintain robust relationships with community members, peer practitioners, Locals teams and key stakeholders.
Champion lived expertise, accessibility, trauma-informed practice and inclusive participation across all engagement activities.
What you'll bring
Lived/living experience of mental distress and recovery, and/or as a family member or carer, with the ability to utilise lived expertise ethically and purposefully.
Completion of Intentional Peer Support (IPS) Core and/or Advanced training.
Experience in a project support, administrative or coordination role within community mental health, lived experience or not-for-profit settings.
Strong organisational skills with experience coordinating multiple stakeholders, managing priorities and maintaining accurate records.
Excellent written communication skills and confidence preparing meeting packs, agendas, minutes and participant communications.
Understanding of lived experience approaches, recovery-oriented practice, trauma-informed practice, human rights-based approaches and inclusive participation principles.
