About the role
As the sole Nurse working in our Nuclear Medicine department you will be involved in a small range of duties including:
Assisting the radiologist with cardiac stress tests and brown fat protocols
Assisting the Nuclear Medicine team with needling and deneedling infusaports
Performing intravenous cannulation
Cannulation blood draws for our clinical trial patients
Monitoring inpatients whilst they remain in our department
Providing a thorough handover to hospital ward staff
Maintaining the department i.e. resus trolley, oxygen & suction checks, ordering stock, & pharmacy orders
Assisting Nuclear Medicine Technologists with patient related tasks
This role will suit somebody requiring school hours thereby allowing time to balance home duties OR somebody seeking a quieter pace within their work day, not often found in a RN role.
Due to our partnership with GenesisCare, this position is based within GenesisCare located on the SJOG Murdoch Hospital campus.
Role requirements
Willing & able to work as the sole RN in the department supported by our wider medical imaging team
Degree/Diploma of Nursing or equivalent
Registration with AHPRA
Recent solid clinical nursing experience ofminimum 2 years full time equivalent
A consistentPatients Firstfocus
A caring, compassionate nature
Excellent communication and time management skills
Please note that the successful candidate is required to provide evidence of vaccination/immunity/screening to a list of vaccine-preventable diseases prior to commencement of employment.
This is a Temporary position being offered for 12 months with an immediate start.
The hours are Part Time – 50 hours per fortnight working school hours i.e. **** to ****hrs (5hr shift) on week days.
