About the RoleOne Rail Australia is seeking expressions for interests for Shift Work Rollingstock Maintainers to join the Newcastle Maintenance team and support the growing maintenance operation in New South Wales from January ****.
The Rollingstock Maintainers play a key role in guaranteeing the ongoing operations of ORA's Rollingstock fleet and become part of One Rail Australia's rapidly growing presence in the Newcastle.This is a shift work roster, with overtime available as required.
This role offers a competitive hourly rate, and the successful applicant will join a supportive and safety conscious team environment.t
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform planned service work on Rollingstock.Perform unplanned work on Rollingstock associated with failures and preventative maintenance.Perform other tasks as required including, facilities maintenance, fueling, sanding, rollingstock washing and provisioning.Perform mechanical and/or electrical work on all ORA rollingstock and overhaul of key components.
Including bogies, brake cylinders and slack adjusters.Use of computerised maintenance management systems.Undertake, adhere to, and manage isolation / safety lockout procedures.Perform shift work including rostered afternoon, night and weekend shifts.Be available for on-call support for after hours breakdown response.Movement of rollingstock by means of a shunt tractor or capstan.Rollingstock preventative maintenance,
repairs and out of course maintenanceField maintenance of Rollingstock including derailment recoveryDriving/operation field service vehicles and mobile lifting equipmentRollingstock movements in the maintenance area as required using fixed and mobile equipment.
Qualifications & ExperienceEssentialTrade QualifiedExperience in heavy industry.Motor Vehicle Licence (Class C)DesirableForklift (LF) Licence.Truck (HR) Licence.Locomotive or Wagon maintenance experience.
SkillsEssentialExcellent fault finding and analytical skills.Able to meet deadlines.Sound communication skills.Ability to work unsupervised.Versatile working attitude.Commitment to Zero Injuries.High level of integrityDesirableAbility to step up into Team Leader or Supervisor level work as required.Multi-skilled – able to work in support of both electrical and/or mechanical tasks on Loco's, Wagons and Facilities.
