Central Coast Council is inviting Expressions of Interest for vacant positions on the Aboriginal Advisory Committee.

Primary Work Location: Central Coast NSW
Central Coast Council is calling on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents who want to have a voice for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community to apply for vacant positions on the Aboriginal Advisory Committee.
Quarterly meeting cycle.
Voluntary unpaid position.

Additionally, we have the fastest growing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community in NSW.
Current members need not apply.
Council regularly asks the community to help us strategically plan for the future of the Local Government Area and this is completed through a range of advisory groups and committees.




Central Coast Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified and experienced Aboriginal people, representatives of Aboriginal controlled organisations, and community stakeholders to be appointed to the Aboriginal Advisory Committee.
Key Activities
Understanding and active participation in discussions of the subject matters
Attendance at meetings, in person or online
Applications will be assessed, based on experience, knowledge and expertise
Willingness to participate in onboarding activities, e.g. Code of Conduct training
Availability to attend quarterly meetings (4 per calendar year)
Provision of confirmation of Aboriginality as part of the Expression of Interest process
Membership of the Aboriginal Advisory Committees will be on a volunteer basis and no fee or costs will be paid to members.
