About the role:
An chance exists for an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join a major renewable energy delivery team supporting the construction of a utility-scale solar farm and high-voltage substation project.
This role will provide engineering and construction support across the full project lifecycle, from detailed design and procurement through to commissioning, energisation and handover.
You will work closely with construction teams, contractors, OEMs, consultants and internal stakeholders to ensure electrical infrastructure is delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale renewable energy infrastructure supporting the transition towards a lower carbon future.
Initial 12-month contract based in Pilbara (FIFO)
$85–$95/hr + super (depending on experience)
2:1 FIFO roster with remote site allowances applicable
Work across a major utility-scale solar farm, HV substation and renewable energy project
Exposure to BESS, HV systems, protection, commissioning and energisation activities
Join a large-scale decarbonisation project within a global mining and energy organisation
What you'll be doing:
Provide electrical engineering support throughout design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover phases
Review electrical design documentation, drawings, vendor submissions and contractor deliverablesResolve technical queries, RFIs, design changes and field engineering issues
Provide technical oversight across HV substations, transformers, switchgear, protection systems and BESS infrastructure
Support electrical balance of plant (EBoP) works including HV/LV cabling,



solar infrastructure and auxiliary systems
Coordinate interfaces between engineering, construction, commissioning teams, OEMs and contractors
Monitor electrical construction progress against project scope, schedule, quality and commissioning milestones
Support FATs, SATs, pre-commissioning, energisation planning and operational readiness activities
Review commissioning documentation including ITPs, test records, relay settings and as-built documentation
Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, electrical safety requirements and project engineering standards
What you'll need to be successful in the role:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
5–10 years' experience in electrical engineering within construction or major project environments
Experience delivering electrical infrastructure projects within mining, renewable energy, utilities or industrial environments
Strong experience with high-voltage substations, power distribution systems and electrical infrastructure
Experience across HV equipment including transformers, switchgear, protection systems and cable installations
Exposure to utility-scale solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and renewable energy projects (highly regarded)
Experience supporting commissioning, energisation and handover of electrical assets
Ability to manage technical queries, contractors, OEMs and multidisciplinary project interfaces
Strong understanding of Australian Standards, electrical codes and network requirements
Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills
Current Australian Driver's Licence and willingness to work FIFO
