BAC Australia is seeking anApplications Engineerto join our team on a12-month maternity leave contract.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain broad exposure to technical sales, product applications and customer solutions while working with an industry leader in cooling tower and heat rejection technology.
Whether you're an engineer who is early in your career engineer or someone with experience in HVAC, mechanical systems or technical products, this role offers the opportunity to grow your technical expertise while developing valuable commercial skills.
About the Role
As an Applications Engineer, you will work closely with our Sales and Engineering teams to provide technical support that helps customers achieve the best outcomes from BAC's products and services.
You'll assist with product selection, technical proposals, quotations, application support and customer enquiries, playing a key role in helping our sales team deliver value to customers across a wide range of industries.
This is a varied role that combines technical analysis, customer interaction, product knowledge and commercial awareness.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare product selections and technical recommendations that meet customer requirements
Support the development of quotations, proposals and project submissions




Provide technical and application advice to customers, sales representatives and internal teams
Assist in identifying and developing new sales opportunities
Develop and maintain technical content, application notes, presentations and sales tools
Support product launches, trade shows, technical training and industry events
Analyse market, product and customer data to support decision-making
Develop pricing models and assist with commercial evaluations
Respond to customer enquiries and collaborate across Sales, Engineering and Production teams
Help drive BAC's reputation for technical excellence and customer value
About You
You are technically curious, customer-focused and enjoy turning complex information into practical solutions.
To be successful, you'll bring:
A degree, diploma or trade qualification in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline
Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in technical products
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
High attention to detail and organisational skills
The ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP, CRM, AutoCAD, Revit or similar software
Highly Regarded
1–2 years' experience in engineering, technical sales or a related role




Experience working directly with customers
Exposure to HVAC, mechanical services, industrial equipment or related industries
Experience preparing quotations, proposals or technical documentation
