Position overview
The Full Time Accountant position is responsible for ensuring preparation of balance sheets, cashflow, income statements, bank - stock reconciliations and month-end.
In addition to this there is reports, other reconciliations, BAS calculations, provisions, PAYG payments, maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register as well as compliance and payroll processing.
The role works closely with the accounting team and site administrators as well as other internal stakeholders.
Through your attention to detail and continuous improvement, this position contributes to the overall effectiveness and reliability of our accounting team.
Key Responsibilities
Keep day-to-day transactional activities monitored and accounted for on a timely basis
Ensure payroll deadlines and compliancy requirements are met
Prepare Balance Sheet, cashflow and income statements
Bank and stock reconciliations and month-end accounting processes
Reports and other reconciliations, including BAS calculations, provisions, PAYG payments and maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register
Assistance with monthly management accounting and financial year end accounts and audits
Assistance in providing information for long-term and short-term decision making.
Various analysis for wide array of financial and operational data
Understand the requirements and expectations of the Finance team, and the relationship between business operations and finance




Ensure accurate and timely records and reporting e.g. all journals and EoM requirements
Enhance current processes in place
Contribute to implementation and improving efficiency of accounting software packages, e.g. Business Central, MYOB EXO, Employment Hero, operations and CRM systems
Establish and maintain financial and admin policies, processes and procedures
Experience and Technical skills
Tertiary qualifications in accounting
2+ years' experience in established accounting role(s)
Good knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and regulatory submissions
Experience ERP Software and accounting and payroll packages such as Business Central, MYOB/Xero/Employment Hero as well as generally robust computer and system skills
Advanced Excel skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Financial and management reporting skills
Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritise and manage conflicting deadlines and work without close supervision
Ability to deliver under pressure, with a sense of urgency and to act on assignments in a timely manner
Demonstrated experience in solving complex problems
CPA/CA qualification or in progress
First move from Public Practice
Manufacturing accounting
Employment Hero
Change Management skills including systems migration experience (data and/or process validation), involvement in continuous improvement and operational efficiency projects
Accounting experience within multiple operational entities
Experience with complex payroll processing (salary and wage staff on different structures)
Role is On-Site: Monday to Friday
