Job Description
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment across a variety of industrial sites. You will work both independently and as part of a team to ensure all machinery operates efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, and other mechanical equipment
Diagnose faults and carry out preventative maintenance
Read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
Maintain accurate service records and documentation
Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards
Collaborate with other trades and site personnel as required
About the Candidate
Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter (Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent)
Proven experience in a similar role within mining, manufacturing,



or heavy industry
Strong fault‐finding and problem‐solving skills
Onboarding Process
All applicants must be willing to undergo a pre‐employment medical, including drug & alcohol testing
Work Environment
Permanent position in the mining sector located in Mount Isa, Queensland. The role involves maintenance, repairs, installation, and component changing of plant equipment. Shift: 12‐hour shifts. Relocation to the centre of Queensland, Town of Mount Isa is required.
