DEVELOPMENT SERVICES OFFICER (DSO)
(MAXIMUM TERM CONTRACT – 6 MONTHS - FULL-TIME/PART-TIME WITH POSSIBLITY OF EXTENSION)

The Shire of York is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Development Services Officer to join our agile Development Services team. This position is being offered as a Maximum Term Contract for an initial period of six (6) months, with the possibility of extension. The role is offered on a full-time basis; however, part-time arrangements may be negotiated for the successful candidate. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting planning, building, health, and compliance functions while working closely with the community, contractors, and internal stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:
Provide frontline customer service and administrative support for Development Services enquiries relating to planning, building, health, and compliance matters.
Process health, building, and planning applications in accordance with statutory requirements and maintain relevant registers and records.
Assist with compliance and statutory functions, including inspections, controlled waste tracking, Notices of Completion, and reporting requirements.
Prepare Council reports, agendas, correspondence, and other documentation to support operational and governance processes.
Coordinate administrative processes including kerb bonds, purchase orders, invoicing, property enquiries, and contractor liaison.
Remuneration:
The salary for the position is offered in accordance with Level 3 of the Shire of York Inside Staff Enterprise Agreement **** ($74,******-$78,******) pro rata. Placement within the range will be determined by the applicant's age, skills and experience.
