About The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and motivated
Maintenance Electrician
to join our Utilities team. In this hands‐on role, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving critical electrical infrastructure that supports water and wastewater services across the region. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will help ensure the reliable operation of treatment plants, pump stations, process equipment and control systems while contributing to the delivery of essential services to the community.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrician who enjoys problem‐solving, working with industrial plant and equipment, and making a meaningful impact through the maintenance of community infrastructure. Participation in an on‐call roster is required as part of the role.
What You'll Be Doing
Carrying out preventative and reactive electrical maintenance on water and wastewater infrastructure, plant and equipment.
Maintaining pumping systems, process plant equipment, control systems and associated electrical assets.
Assisting with the maintenance and frontline support of SCADA systems and PLC‐controlled equipment.
Troubleshooting electrical faults and implementing effective solutions to improve reliability and efficiency.
Recommending and supporting continuous improvements to plant and equipment performance.
Working collaboratively within a multi‐skilled team while contributing to a positive, safety‐focused culture.
Supporting emergency response activities, major breakdowns and other operational requirements when needed.
Engaging professionally with customers, contractors, landowners and stakeholders to deliver quality service outcomes.
What You Bring
NSW Electrical Supervisor Licence (or equivalent) and a current Driver Licence.
Proven experience in electrical maintenance, preferably within industrial, utilities, water or wastewater environments.
Strong knowledge of pumping systems, process plant equipment and industrial electrical systems.
Demonstrated ability to analyse faults,
troubleshoot complex issues and implement practical solutions.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines in a busy operational environment.
Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A commitment to workplace safety, continuous improvement and delivering high‐quality outcomes.
Experience with electrical instrumentation, SCADA systems, confined spaces or water and wastewater operations will be highly regarded.
We are offering
1x full‐time permanent position (38 hours per week / 9 day fortnight), typically working 7am to 4pm
Salary and Conditions will be in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award with an appointment at a salary in the range of $1,****** to $1,****** per 38 hour week (dependent upon skills and experience), plus a 7% market loading

Location
This position is based at our Depot and (STP) Sewerage Treatment Plant in Byron Bay; however, Council can require you to work from other work sites as required for operational reasons.
