Benny's Restaurant and Bar is a well-established hospitality venue renowned for its quality food, welcoming atmosphere, and exceptional customer service.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate culinary professional to contribute to a busy commercial kitchen, working alongside a dedicated team to deliver consistently high-quality dining experiences while supporting the efficient day‐day operation of the kitchen.
Role and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Ensure food standards, preparation, presentation and cooking techniques are established and monitored.
Research and recommend changes to improve the overall efficiency of the kitchen.
Ensure raw material and kitchen wage costs remain within budget
Coordinate daily food requirements considering delivery times, shelf life and storage capabilities.
Research and recommend changes to improve the overall efficiency of the kitchen
Complete kitchen opening and closing procedures
Report maintenance issues as they arise and ensure equipment is safe to operate.
Maintain a thorough knowledge of Benny's restaurant food and beverage products, as well as an understanding of non-food and beverage products.
Assess the quality of products and the services being delivered by the kitchen
Problem solve escalated customer complaints and queries in conjunction with the HeadWaiter/Waitress.
Ensure business revenues are maximized
Manage and lead the kitchen team while reporting to the head Chef
Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reporting tasks in a timely and accurate manner
Assess the quality of products and the services being delivered by the kitchen
Effective time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, volume, and deadlines.
Sound knowledge of work health and safety responsibilities and a commitment to Workplace Health and Safety and safe food handling and hygiene.
Qualifications Requirements:
Cert III in Commercial Cookery (Required).
Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (Required).
Diploma of Hospitality (Preferred)
Skills, Attributes and Experience:
Experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
The ability to stay calm whilst working under pressure, make appropriate decisions quickly while maintaining professionalism and a positive attitude.
Ability to train, communicate and supervise staff effectively
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining professionalism and a positive attitude.
Ability to work as part of a team and to interact positively with others
