KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning the Design, Coding, Testing, Integration and Documentation of allocated software tasks
Management of milestone delivery and reporting
Task estimation
Weekly reporting of project status to Project Management
Achieving project SW milestones/goals within approved budgets.
Ensuring that software engineering activities undertaken are conducted in accordance with relevant the company Quality Assurance standards and procedures using appropriate software tools.
Lead in developing Agile and Lean development practices for software development
Undertake critical Software Architectural Design and Software Component reviews.
Liaising with Customers to discuss new software tasks and assist in creation of Operational Analysis Documents.
Ensuring adequate preliminary testing is done on all software tasks before being integrated, ensuring minimal problems occur at a later stage of the software life cycle.
Investigating and using new technologies where relevant
KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Task and Schedule Management of a Software Team: 3+ years
Various Software Methodologies (Waterfall, Agile etc) : 3+ years
Programming languages (C, C++, Java, JavaFX): 2+ years
Design using UML: 2+ years
Documentation of SDD, SRS, STDs etc : 2+ years.
System Engineering lifecycle experience in Defence/commercial areas
Experience with continuous build, integration and test software development
Environments
Experience with working in Linux and Windows
Experience in integrating large projects desirable
Experience in Open systems.
Rapid Learner and able to apply the skills quickly
High level planning and time-management skills.
Ability to write clear, concise documents containing technical detail.
GOOD TO KNOW
