South Australia

Build your accounting career while helping shape the future of one of South Australia's most respected hospitality groups.
The Piermount Group has a remarkable and distinctly South Australian history. A fifth generation business, the Matthews family has played a defining role in shaping the State's pub and hotel landscape, setting high standards that South Australians have enjoyed for decades. Their venues have become part of the fabric of local life, with many experiencing the family's signature warmth and quality hospitality.
Today a significant portion of the family's venues operate under the Piermount brand, guided by Directors Brett Matthews and Shaun Matthews. The portfolio includes the Stirling Hotel, Marryatville Hotel, Seaton Hotel, Belair Hotel, Flagstaff Hotel, Australasian, Albion Hotel, Mansfield Park Hotel and Manoah House. The name 'Piermount' nods to the family's heritage, inspired by the historic Largs Pier Hotel and the Mount Gambier Hotel, both central to the family's early journey.
Piermount's Head Office is located in the Adelaide foothills on a stunning 40 acre estate, just 15 minutes from Burnside Village. The manor and its surroundings are impressive yet welcoming, creating an environment that is relaxed, grounded and serene, reflecting the group's friendly, non corporate culture.
Guided by strong family values and a genuine commitment to continuous improvement, Piermount is entering an exciting new phase as it invests in building a best practice finance team.
About the Opportunity
This newly created Accountant position is suited to an early career Accountant with around two or more years' experience. Reporting directly to an experienced and highly accomplished Group Finance Manager, you'll play an important role in supporting the evolution of the finance function while developing your own technical, analytical and commercial capability.
If you're looking for a role where you'll be mentored, challenged and given genuine opportunity to grow, we'd love to hear from you.
Working across a multi entity hospitality group, you'll gain exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities including accounts payable and receivable, month end reporting, reconciliations,

intercompany accounting, compliance, management reporting and process improvement. As you build your understanding of the business, systems and workflows, you'll progressively broaden your exposure across the finance function.
As the business continues to grow, you'll also have opportunities to become involved in systems implementation, financial analysis and reporting improvements that support smarter commercial decision making across the group. This provides you with diverse commercial finance experience, beyond the typical accounting role.
You'll enjoy working in an environment where your ideas are welcomed, continuous improvement is encouraged, and where you'll gain exposure across the full finance function while helping shape its future rather than simply maintaining existing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with accounts payable and receivable activities, including processing supplier payments, resolving supplier queries and following up outstanding debtor balances where required.
Support high volume transactional finance activities while maintaining exceptional accuracy and meeting deadlines.
Perform month end close activities including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
Complete intercompany reconciliations and support multi entity accounting.
Assist with BAS, GST and other compliance activities.
Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports and management information.
Maintain accurate financial records and support fixed asset accounting.
Investigate discrepancies and ensure exceptional accuracy across financial transactions.
Assist with the implementation of improved finance systems, controls and reporting processes.
Provide support across the broader finance function as required within a collaborative team environment.
About You

Comfortable working within a high volume transactional environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, ideally including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
Excellent attention to detail and a genuine pride in producing accurate work.
A positive attitude, willingness to learn and openness to constructive feedback.

Exposure to a growing multi entity business with excellent career development opportunities.
