A Senior UI Lead position is available within a highly collaborative product and engineering team responsible for building and evolving a portfolio of customer-facing and internal applications.
The team is seeking a senior, mature leader to take ownership of the UI domain, uplift quality, and provide clear technical direction across both new and existing platforms.
You will lead the UI team, actively shaping how interfaces are designed and implemented, while coordinating and delegating work across the group. You will refine and build upon an existing UI foundation, ensuring a consistent, high-quality look and feel across all applications.
This is a strategic role rather than a short-term delivery position. You will play a key part in influencing technical direction, contributing to design discussions, and ensuring the UI layer effectively supports both customer-facing systems and internal monitoring tools.
You will work closely with developers and stakeholders across the business, balancing leadership, design and hands‐on delivery within a collaborative engineering environment.
This is a hands‐on position, with approximately 40 per cent of your time spent coding, depending on project workload. At times this may increase if you are directly aligned to specific initiatives. The remainder of your time will focus on design, team leadership, coordination of work, and some administrative responsibilities.
The role is Perth based, with a hybrid model including a regular work-from-home day on Thursdays, with flexibility to swap this when required.
You Should Have
10+ years of commercial software development experience, with flexibility for the right candidate
Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring or managing other developers
Robust experience in

React and Next.js (minimum two years)
Proven ability to contribute to design discussions and guide technical direction

Team and Reporting Structure
You will manage two mid-level UI developers, each with approximately five to six years' experience.
You will report directly to the Head of Technology. The wider development team is tightly knit, highly collaborative, and works closely together in the office.
Culture
The team has a strong, supportive culture with regular collaboration and knowledge sharing. There is a monthly social club, and the group values working together rather than operating in silos.
Working Arrangements
Hybrid working model
Thursdays as the standard work‐from‐home day, with flexibility to change if needed
Maximum salary:
$160,000 plus superannuation
, with some flexibility for the right candidate.
There is genuine opportunity for progression. If you are interested in people leadership, there is potential to grow and scale the UI team beneath you. There is also a clear pathway into Solution Architecture for those who wish to pursue that direction.
The Benefits
Lead and shape the future of the UI function
Ownership over key applications and platforms
Influence over design and technical direction
Balanced mix of leadership and hands‐on engineering
Supportive, close‐knit development team
