Are you a detail-oriented Financial Accountant who enjoys owning the numbers and driving continuous improvement?
GemLife is one of Australia's fastest-growing developers, owners and operators of luxury over-50s lifestyle resorts. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a motivated Financial Accountant to join our Head Office Finance team.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting while supporting the business with valuable financial insights and maintaining compliance with statutory obligations.
What You'll Be Doing
Owning the month-end reporting process, including journals, accruals and prepayments.
Preparing Special Purpose and General Purpose Financial Statements.
Ensuring compliance with GST, PAYG, FBT, Payroll Tax and other statutory reporting requirements.
Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
Managing the Fixed Asset Register and depreciation.
Assisting with tax compliance and supporting external audits.
Working closely with internal stakeholders to deliver accurate financial reporting and commercial insights.
Identifying opportunities to improve financial systems, processes and controls.
What You Bring
CA or CPA qualification.
Ideally trained within a Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm.
At least two years' post-qualification experience in a Financial Accountant role.




Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial reporting experience.
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience with Technology One (highly regarded).
Strong experience with FBT.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.
A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
