The Role
Join our team as a Special Needs Education Assistant and support the Department's objective of teaching and learning for students with special needs. Suitable applicants would assist in the implementation of specialised education programs such as occupational therapy, speech therapy and physiotherapy,



helping to ensure that students receive the best possible education.
You will work closely with teachers to deliver planned education programs, including the use of computers and digital technologies, and will be responsible for implementing individual student or small group programs or demonstrations. Additionally, you will provide feedback on education and therapy programs and will participate in the evaluation process.

obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; and
consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.

A CV of up to two (2) pages outlining your employment history and professional learning summary relevant to this position;

A three (3) page statement addressing selection criteria 3, 4 and 6 as outlined in the attached JDF
3. Demonstrated good organisational skills that will assist in the delivery and development of effective education programs to students and subsequent feedback to teaching professionals or psychologists.
4. Demonstrated ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including special education and, should this be a requirement of the position, occupational and/or physiotherapy programs.
6. Demonstrated ability to assist with general health and well-being of students.
