Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Enrolled Nurse role located in Hervey Bay, QLD. The Enrolled Nurse provides direct nursing care to residents, including monitoring health status, administering medications within scope of practice, supporting wound healing, and assisting with activities of daily living. Daily tasks include documenting care and observations accurately, reporting changes in condition to Registered Nurses and other clinicians, and following care plans and clinical protocols. The role involves collaborating with care staff, allied health professionals, residents, and their families to support individual needs and preferences. The Enrolled Nurse also contributes to infection prevention,
health and safety practices, and a respectful, supportive environment for residents and colleagues.
Qualifications
Current Enrolled Nurse registration with the relevant national nursing board and eligibility to practice in Australia.
Demonstrated experience in aged care or similar clinical settings, with understanding of person-centered and dementia-inclusive care.
Competence in medication administration within scope of practice, basic wound care, and monitoring vital signs and clinical indicators.
Strong documentation and record-keeping skills, including accurate progress notes and care plan updates.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and respond calmly to changing clinical needs.
Knowledge of infection prevention, workplace health and safety, and quality improvement principles in residential aged care.
Commitment to respectful, inclusive, and culturally sensitive care, supporting residents' rights and choices.
Basic computer literacy for using clinical and care management systems.
Relevant vaccinations and clear background checks in line with aged care requirements.
