We are seeking an Environmental Health Officer to join our Environmental Health team. Reporting to the Principal Environmental Health, you will play a key role in protecting and improving the health, safety and wellbeing of our community through education, advocacy, compliance assessment and regulatory enforcement.
In this diverse role, you will undertake environmental health inspection programs, assess business and community compliance with relevant legislation, assist with disaster management activities, conduct noise assessments, and undertake water and food sampling.
Based in Innisfail, this position requires regular travel throughout the Cassowary Coast Region.

About the Role
Deliver a risk-based approach to compliance and enforcement, with a focus on education and information
Help Council meet its environmental health and legislative responsibilities
Provide professional, efficient and respectful environmental health services to the community
Skills & Experience
Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Health (or equivalent)
Eligibility for membership with Environmental Health Australia
Knowledge of environmental health legislation and issues, ideally within local government or a similar environment
Strong investigation, analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other digital applications
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Current Queensland C Class Driver Licence
