About the role
Outback Sleepers is seeking a
Production Worker (Precast Concrete Sleeper)
to join our manufacturing team on a
full-time basis with a 3 month probation
at our facility in Lonsdale, SA ****. This is a hands-on production role that plays a crucial part in our manufacturing operations, contributing directly to the quality and output of our precast concrete sleeper products. You will be working within a dynamic manufacturing workplace, supporting the assembly and processing of concrete sleepers that are essential to the rail and construction industries.
Key responsibilities
1. Operating and monitoring precast concrete production equipment and machinery
2. Mixing, pouring and finishing concrete in accordance with quality requirements and production schedules
3. Conducting quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet company and industry standards
4. Assisting with the loading, unloading and movement of materials and finished products
5. Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area, adhering to health and safety protocols
6. Following production schedules and meeting daily output targets
7. Reporting equipment issues or product defects to supervisors immediately
8. Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the production environment
What we're looking for

2. Ability to operate heavy machinery and equipment safely and effectively
3. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality in all work undertaken
4. Physical fitness and capability to perform manual labour, including lifting and handling of materials

Excellent health and safety awareness and adherence to workplace protocols
6. Ability to work productively as part of a team and follow instructions from supervisors
7. Reliability and punctuality in attending work
8. Basic numeracy and literacy skills
9. Willingness to learn new skills and techniques relevant to precast concrete production
10. Relevant certifications in forklift operation, plant operation or health and safety are advantageous
