Gaming Math Model Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities
Assists in the creation of concepts for new poker machine games that maximize player appeal and game performance in the field.
Assists in the design of fun, creative math models.
Responsible for all math model calculations for assigned games, including base game/free games, bonus features, and all payback percentages, hit frequencies, standard deviations, and other metrics as appropriate.
Creates own programming tool to verify math models and analyze game play characteristics.
Prepares Excel spreadsheets for regulatory submission, adhering to Light & Wonder standards for formatting and preferred mathematical methods.
Reviews other Game Designer's calculations prior to regulatory submission for correctness and adherence to Light & Wonder standards.
Develops new and improves existing mathematical methods.
Works with the regulatory agencies as needed to address and resolve math‐related compliance issues.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficiency in mathematics, especially probability and statistics.
Proficiency in Excel, especially using linking and formulas to dynamically calculate probabilities and describe complicated probabilistic events.
Curiosity, creativity, and high personal integrity.
Strong problem‐solving skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially the ability to explain complex mathematical concepts to non‐mathematicians.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Knowledge of the industry is desirable.
Intermediate programming skills in C++, C#, Python, Unity, or related languages is desirable.
Experience, Education,



and Qualification
Ability to work with technical correspondence.
Bachelor's degree with a strong mathematical component, emphasis in probability and statistics, or equivalent experience.
