The Role
An exciting opportunity has become available in the School of Engineering at Macquarie University. We are seeking a qualified Research Associate to join a team with an international reputation for producing highâquality, industryârelevant research in the area of advanced solar energy devices.
We are looking for a passionate and accomplished researcher with a strong track record in developing highâquality nanomaterials and highâefficiency solar energy devices.
The successful candidate will join established projects funded by the Australian Government, focusing on the development of a pilot prototype for ecoâfriendly manufacturing. The project will involve optimising green and nonâtoxic nanomaterial formulations, as well as materials and device fabrication processes, to achieve high power conversion efficiency. The role will also include supervising junior researchers within the photovoltaics group in the School of Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
Set up a scalable synthesis and fabrication facility for nonâtoxic nanomaterials and devices
Implement green production in highly lightâemitting nanomaterials and solarâcell fabrication
Selection Criteria
A PhD in photovoltaic engineering or a closely related discipline
Strong research experience in lightâemitting nanomaterials synthesis and solar energy harvesting devices as demonstrated by highâquality publications or patents
Expertise in nanomaterial characterisation (both optical and electrical) as demonstrated by highâquality publications or patents
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to implement required health and safety policies and procedures
A track record of working with industry partners
