Balancing the world's need for safe, reliable water with protecting this critical natural resource for the future requires a deep understanding of interconnected systems.
We work with clients across the entire project life cycle — from initial planning studies through final construction and operations and maintenance services — on both traditional and alternative project-delivery options (design-build, public-private partnerships and financing).
With a robust design and construction division, AECOM offers a unique perspective on designing projects that are fully constructible.
Job Description
Due to significant contract awards within our ANZ Water business, we are expanding our Water Infrastructure Team in South East Queensland (SEQ); these awards bring a secure 10‐year pipeline of work that allows you to base yourself in our Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, or Brisbane offices.
The Water Infrastructure group provides services to a range of internal and external clients on projects covering water and wastewater treatment, dams, asset management, major conveyance, industrial, civil infrastructure, mining, and defence sectors, with a key focus on supporting sustainable outcomes for our clients and the communities they serve.
By joining our team, you will work alongside industry‐leading experts and have the opportunity to collaborate with interstate and international offices.
How you'll make a difference
Play a key role in technical practice leadership for the civil group.
Provide technical guidance to the team, mentor junior engineers and designers, and contribute to the growth of our talent pipeline.

Get involved in managing and completing projects from inception through the bidding, concept design, detailed design, tendering, and construction support phases.
Ensure all quality assurance processes are followed, delivering projects on time and within budget for planning, design, and/or construction support.
Build and maintain robust relationships with various clients across a range of sectors.
Qualifications
The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don't tick all the boxes, you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Please apply — all applications will be considered.
Relevant tertiary qualifications and RPEQ / CPEng.
Ideally, 12+ years of relevant experience.
Demonstrated experience in water and/or wastewater projects, including civil water networks, hydraulic/pump selection, transient analysis, buried structural pipe calculations, and thrust block design.
Knowledge of applicable Australian codes and standards.
Passion for delivering high‐quality work, mentoring, leadership, collaboration, and excellent client and stakeholder engagement skills.
Benefits
Flexible work arrangements, including alternative start/finish times, part‐time, job‐sharing, and hybrid work options.
Purchase up to 6 weeks additional annual leave per year.
Volunteer and representation leave.
Flexible public holidays – swap Easter or other holidays for ones that suit you better.
We welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds, including those with disabilities, additional health or mental health needs, and/or neurodiverse conditions. If you require any adjustments during the hiring process, please let us know.
