About the Role
Free TV Australia is the peak industry body representing Australia's commercial television broadcasters. We work with government, regulators and our members to shape the policy and regulatory framework that underpins Australia's commercial television sector.
Working closely with the CEO and the Director of Public Policy, you'll help develop industry positions on complex policy and regulatory issues, engage with senior stakeholders and contribute to advocacy that influences national policy.
This role offers the opportunity to work on complex and high-profile matters affecting Australia's commercial television sector, while building strong relationships with senior stakeholders across government, regulatory bodies and the media industry.
You Will Be Responsible For
Building and maintaining strong relationships with relevant government stakeholders, regulators and Free TV members.
Working with Free TV's senior leaders and member representatives to understand regulatory priorities and challenges.
Developing coordinated, industry-wide approaches to complex policy and regulatory issues.
Preparing submissions to regulators, government consultations and parliamentary or government inquiries.
Preparing high-quality briefing papers, policy papers and advocacy material.
Supporting the CEO and senior leaders in advocacy with government and regulators.
Keeping Free TV members informed about regulatory changes that may affect their businesses.
Supporting external messaging and communications on regulatory matters.
Providing clear and timely reports to the CEO, Director of Public Policy and Free TV members.
You Will Bring
Demonstrated experience in regulatory affairs, public policy, government relations, advocacy or a related field.
A strong understanding of government and regulatory processes.
Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex issues into clear, concise and persuasive material.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Demonstrated ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders across government, regulatory bodies and industry.
Sound judgement, initiative and the ability to manage competing priorities.
A cooperative approach and the ability to work effectively in a small, high-performing team.
Experience in media, broadcasting, communications or another regulated industry will be highly regarded.
