Position overview:
As a mid-weight designer, you will be working as part of a design team to discover, distil, design and deliver a diverse variety of challenging briefs, with a particular focus on hospitality and retail projects.
Working closely with our DC designers, architects, consultants, and stakeholders, you'll interpret client briefs, visualise, detail, document and transform ideas into engaging, buildable concepts.

You will work alongside our team of designers from across our locations and you will be responsible for giving creative and technical design input on project work.
You will take direction from our Design Director, Managing Director and Senior Designers. You will also give guidance, participate in presentations and have an opportunity to collaborate with mentoring juniors.
Key responsibilities - Your tasks will include:
Assist in Concept Development, insight gathering and idea generation
Support Senior Designers with Detailed Tender and Construction Documentation, utilising solid skills in our CAD software, VectorWorks
Preparation of high-level presentation packages, utilising Photoshop, PPT and Google Suite
Product investigation, sourcing and specifications
FF&E; collation for physical presentation and scheduling
Confident client, contractor and authorities liaison
On-site coordination including site surveys, visits and supervision
Prepare defects inspection reports and meeting minutes
Contribute to pitch presentations, workshops, audits and trend reporting
Participate in client meetings, site visits, and design presentations
Conduct research on materials, finishes, and design trends
Collaborate with suppliers, contractors, and other team members to ensure project success
Assist in preparing mood boards, physical and digital sample boards
Contribute to project programs and ensure deadlines are met
Key Attributes - As a mid-weight designer, you will have:
A minimum of 4 years professional design experience
Tertiary Qualifications - A Bachelor degree in Design,
Interior Architecture, Architecture or related field
Advanced 2D and 3D CAD skills – Willingness to transition across to VectorWorks 2D and 3D
High competency Photoshop and Illustrator – Adobe Creative Suite skills
High competency in Microsoft Office & Google Suite software
Experience in SketchUp desirable
Experience contributing in virtual meeting environments eg Zoom, Teams, Google Meet
Ambition to build skills in the areas of visual identity, strategy research, social media etc.
Confidence corresponding directly with clients and suppliers
Ability and experience working both autonomously and collaboratively
Technical knowledge and ability to develop details and take designs through to construction documentation
Knowledge and familiarity of Australian building regulations and standards
Evidence you hold a valid visa to work in AU
