Our OpportunityLocation: Eliwana/Flying Fish, Pilbara region, Western Australia (90 km west of Tom Price), on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people.Roster: 7 days, 7 nights, 14 off – FIFO from PerthReporting to the SME Maintenance Superintendent, your role is critical to the success and culture of the SME Maintenance team.
This position is a key leadership role for the department and is responsible for leading and mentoring a team of trades personnel to safely deliver world class fleet availability and reliability.
You will establish and maintain a workplace culture led by our values, be willing to adapt to cutting-edge technology and learn new disciplines to consistently promote excellence through application of values and visual leadership.The SME fleet consists of a wide variety of mining support equipment, including a fleet of Scania triple road trains; Toyota and Ford LV's; Isuzu, MAN, and Volvo light trucks; CAT Ancillary equipment including skid steers, graders, loaders and diggers and a new and exciting fleet of battery electric assets.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain fleet availability and reliability above KPI targetsReview and conduct weekly plan of service and backlog repairsMaintain maintenance facilities to high standards of organization and cleanlinessEnsure all maintenance activities meet the required Fortescue HSE standards and proceduresEnsure parts return process is followedAdapting to innovative technologies with Autonomy and Fleet ManagementWillingness to learn new disciplines and skills to build towards a Green future and Decarbonization of our businessQualifications And ExperienceAustralian-recognised trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic or Auto ElectricianStatutory Supervisor Schedule 26Extensive experience working in Heavy Road Transport or Mobile Equipment environmentsProven ability to coach, mentor, and develop diverse teams, especially in environments embracing change and innovation.Experience in planning and scheduling maintenance activities (preferred).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP.Strong knowledge of Mines Regulations, Occupational Health and Safety legislation, and other relevant regulations.Understanding of HR/IR practices, including career path development.Ability to conduct thorough quality risk assessments.About UsBe part of something big.
