Mental Health / Psychosocial Disability(Adults and Youth) OT required for Sunshine Coast to form part of a progressive and successful Occupational Therapy practice based at Maroochydore. Flexibility required in part time hours worked (32 hours / week) with potential increase to full time work.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Deliver client centred, recovery- oriented mental health occupational therapy services as a member of a dynamic occupational therapy team, to NDIS participants, Medicare referrals and private fee-paying clients.
This role is located at Sunshine Coast, with travel to various other locations including Gladstone, Bundaberg and the Wide Bay area, as and when required (OT's wishing to work in these rural areas part-time/full-time are also welcome to apply).
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Deliver client centred individual occupational therapy services including:
assessments,
intervention planning,
review,
report writing,
verbal reporting,
completing of standardised outcome measures.
Complete and deliver comprehensive psychosocial occupational therapy assessments reports as required by the referrer on appropriate Minerva approved templates, within the required timeframe of 28 days after completing the assessment and information gathering process.
Undertake routine Occupational Therapy tasks commensurate with level of experience in accordance with established clinical and departmental protocols,
and under clinical practice supervision.
Complete clinical documentation using appropriate Minerva approved software (FlowLogic).
As experience builds, apply increasingly independent clinical judgement to more complex clinical decision making under the clinical practice supervision or professional guidance of a more senior clinician.
Provide input into the development and promotion of the Minerva Occupational Therapy role, including clinical practices, procedures, and protocols.
Develop clinical practice knowledge and expertise through self-directed learning, active learning within the team, and by engaging in career development activities.
SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Within the context of the responsibilities described, the ideal Minerva OT will be able to demonstrate the following:
Demonstrated mental health Occupational Therapy clinical interest and a passion for further knowledge, expertise and skill within this field.
Base level of knowledge, expertise, and skill in mental health Occupational Therapy within a community-based setting.
Demonstrated high level of communication, interpersonal and consultative skills, and an ability to work co-operatively and effectively in a team setting.
Demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire the skills and actively and effectively participate in service improvement activities.
Ability to apply clinical services including the ability to self manage both clinical and non-clinical caseload requirements, adhering to deadlines and delivering high quality services.
Ability to rapidly acquire the skill to provide guidance to less experienced staff members and education to students.
Ability to work collaboratively from a recovery framework with the consumer at whatever stage of their journey and demonstrated ability to deliver a flexible service that meets the consumer needs using a holistic approach.
Actively participate in clinical practice supervision provided by senior staff and a Performance Appraisal and Development (PAD) process with the Minerva Directors.
Develop relationships and liaise appropriately with external service providers, including government and non-government organisations.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Appointment to this position requires proof of a tertiary qualification in occupational therapy and registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Authority (AHPRA). Certified copies of relevant qualifications and registration must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
Must have a current open driver's licence.
Hold or must be able to obtain a current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
