About our clientOur client supplies mobile lighting towers, generators, diesel engines, parts and servicing solutions to customers across Australia.
The workshop supports mechanical, electrical and field service operations, working closely with warehouse, administration and interstate teams to deliver maintenance, repairs and technical support.About the opportunityReporting to the Branch Manager, you will oversee workshop workflow, coordinate technicians and provide technical support across servicing, repairs, installations and commissioning.
Initially, the role will be approximately 50% leadership and 50% hands-on technical work, with leadership responsibilities increasing over time.Key responsibilities include:Coordinating workshop schedules and technician workloadsMaintaining technician utilisation above 80%Supporting diagnostics, servicing and complex repairsManaging parts, resources and job prioritiesLeading daily pre-start meetings and promoting safe work practicesMonitoring job progress and resolving workflow issuesReviewing timesheets, job documentation and workshop recordsYou will service and repair diesel engines, generators and lighting towers while working closely with warehouse, administration and interstate support teams to ensure customer commitments are met.About youYou are an experienced tradesperson who enjoys leading people while remaining technically involved.
You can organise workshop priorities, mentor technicians and maintain a productive, accountable team workplace.Ideally,
you will have:A Mechanical or Electrical trade qualificationExperience with diesel engines, generators or power generation equipmentPrevious workshop or field service leadership experienceStrong fault-finding, servicing and repair skillsExperience scheduling work and coordinating resourcesThe ability to review job documentation and labour utilisationA current Australian driver's licencePermanent working rights in AustraliaApplications are encouraged from Electrical Technicians, Diesel Mechanics, Heavy Vehicle Mechanics and similar trades.What's on offerThis is an opportunity to develop your leadership career without giving up hands-on technical work.
