This is an exciting chance to join a collaborative payroll team supporting a large Australian workforce during a busy period of growth.You will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of fortnightly payroll while supporting compliance, maintaining payroll data integrity, and delivering an exceptional employee experience.
This role offers the opportunity to work within a rapid-paced, supportive environment with hybrid working flexibility and exposure to best-practice payroll processes.Role OverviewReporting to the Payroll Manager, this Payroll Officer position will focus on the end-to-end processing of Australian payroll, maintaining employee records, managing payroll changes across the employee lifecycle, and ensuring compliance with Australian payroll legislation and Modern Awards.On a daily basis, you will process payroll transactions, respond to employee enquiries, reconcile payroll data, and work closely with HR and Finance to ensure payroll accuracy.
You will also support payroll reporting, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing payroll processes and employee experience.This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced workplace, thrives on accuracy, and is passionate about delivering exceptional payroll outcomes.ResponsibilitiesProcess accurate and timely fortnightly Australian payrollManage payroll transactions across the employee lifecycle, including new starters, terminations, salary changes, and leave processingMaintain accurate payroll, HRIS, and time & attendance recordsEnsure payroll compliance with Australian legislation, Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements,
and company policiesRespond to employee payroll enquiries and provide exceptional customer serviceReconcile payroll reports and resolve payroll discrepanciesPartner with HR, Finance, and external payroll providers to support payroll operationsAssist with payroll reporting, audits, month-end activities, and payroll-related projectsIdentify opportunities to improve payroll processes and operational efficienciesMaintain strict confidentiality and ensure compliance with internal controlsCandidate Profile:You are an experienced Payroll Officer with a strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and a passion for delivering accurate, compliant payroll services.
You enjoy working in a collaborative environment and are confident managing competing priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.You will bring experience processing end-to-end payroll within a medium to large organisation, along with strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships across HR, Finance, and the wider business.
You are proficient in Microsoft Excel and have experience using payroll and time & attendance systems, ideally Humanforce or a similar platform.Most importantly, you are organised, proactive, customer-focused, and committed to continuous improvement while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.This global consumer products organisation is recognised for its collaborative culture, innovative mindset, and commitment to developing its people.
