Olympic Dam is one of the world's most significant underground copper, gold, silver and uranium operations and remains a key asset within BHP's Copper South Australia growth plan.
We're currently seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced and safety-focused Development Blasting Miners who are looking to join a high-performing underground team and contribute to the future success of Olympic Dam.
About the Role
As a Development Blasting Miner, you'll play a critical role in supporting safe and efficient mine development activities across the underground operation.
Supporting safe and effective mine development activities
Charging underground development headings
Installing and retrieving Blast PED units
Maintaining compliance with explosives handling procedures and site standards




Supporting operational requirements through relief coverage in other positions as required
Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
Demonstrating strong safety leadership and teamwork

About You
We're looking for someone who is committed to safety, works well in a team environment and takes pride in delivering quality outcomes.
A strong commitment to personal and team safety
The confidence to speak up and challenge unsafe behaviours
A positive and team-oriented approach to work
Strong organisational and planning skills




The ability to follow procedures and maintain compliance standards
A current Australian Driver's Licence with manual driving capability
A current Blaster's Licence or the ability to obtain one
Essential Experience
Minimum 3 years' underground hard rock mining experience
Experience in mine development activities
Experience handling and charging explosives underground
Strong understanding of underground mining operations and mine servicesProven ability to work safely in a production-focused environment
