Provide assistance to Apprentices if requested
POSITION PURPOSE
Perform the successful completion of jobs
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
****** Welder (First Class) (Aus) / Welder (NZ) - Fabricates and repairs metal products using various welding techniques.
Skill Level: 3 Specialisation: Special Class Welder Certificate as Boilermaker/Welder to AS/NZS ****:**** or Aluminium Fabricator AS/NZS ****:**** Certificate for working in confined spaces Certificate in basic OH&S; training Certificate in operation of basic power tools
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Capable of taking instructions both written and verbal Capable of maintaining OH&S; standards Ability to carry out boilermaker/Welder procedures to acceptable standards Ability to carry out fabrication procedures Ability to carry out welding procedures studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiselling and grinding
RESPONSIBILITIES




Time management to ensure that jobs are completed efficiently Record keeping of daily timecards Quality of workmanship Notification of any unsafe acts or conditions Request correct materials and consumables from Leading Hands Inspect and signed off job/project with Quality Inspector.
Follow all Business Management Procedures that relate to this position Implement policies related to environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and corporate governance

Request items as per budget/job specification Approve the receipt of incoming goods/equipment Remove from issue nonconforming goods/equipment
PHYSICAL
Functional Requirements:
Manual handling, Maximum lift: Not to exceed - 15kg

REQUIRED
Taylor Bros Marine Conditions of Employment: Achieve and Maintain; Security, Character and National Police checks, for Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) and Maritime Security Identification Card.
Drug and Alcohol (D&A;) Policy includes: scheduled, random,



reasonable suspicion & post incident D&A; testing (technical analysis) to AS/NZS ****:****.
Report changes of circumstances: Contact details, situational details, loss of driver licences, medical fitness, workplace and non-workplace injuries etc.
