As a capital intensive infrastructure business operating in a high growth sector, they combine operational excellence with disciplined financial management to support scalable growth and strong investor returns.This is a business that values technical excellence, commercial discipline and long term thinking, and offers a rare opportunity to be part of shaping an organisation's engineering DNA from a formative stage of its growth.About The RoleThis is a genuine opportunity for an experienced engineering leader to take ownership of the design and technical delivery of hyperscale and AI ready data centre developments, from concept through to construction and commissioning.Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will provide technical leadership across electrical, mechanical, civil, structural, hydraulics and fire protection disciplines, coordinating consultants, utility providers, equipment vendors, contractors and customer technical representatives throughout the design lifecycle.Key responsibilities include:Leading engineering design and technical development of hyperscale and AI ready data centre projectsManaging the end to end design process and chairing design workshops and technical coordination meetingsEstablishing and maintaining engineering design standards and governance processesLeading value engineering, constructability and operational readiness reviewsCoordinating with electricity network providers,



water authorities and telecommunications carriersSupporting procurement, technical evaluations and contract negotiationsProviding engineering oversight during construction, commissioning and handoverActing as the primary engineering interface for customers, consultants and regulatory authoritiesAbout YouBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline8 to 15 years' experience in engineering design, design management or technical project delivery within data centres, mission critical facilities or complex infrastructureDemonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary consultants through concept, detailed design, procurement, construction and commissioningStrong understanding of mission critical electrical and mechanical systems, redundancy philosophies and operational resilienceExcellent knowledge of Australian Standards, the National Construction Code and statutory approval processesExperience delivering hyperscale, colocation or high density AI ready infrastructure highly regardedExperience within a developer, owner operator or private equity backed organisation is advantageousChartered Professional Engineer (CPEng), or progressing towards chartership, well regardedStrong stakeholder management, communication and presentation skillsPlay a key technical leadership role in a rapidly growing digital infrastructure platformShape engineering standards and design philosophy across a growing portfolio of hyperscale developmentsWork on nationally significant, mission critical AI ready infrastructure projectsPrivate equity backed business with genuine growth opportunities and long term value creationCollaborative, high performance culture with exposure to senior leadership and major stakeholders
