Company DescriptionOne Ball is a community soccer program for children and young people aged 5–17 across Melbourne, designed to promote fitness, physical health, and psychological wellbeing.
The program is especially focused on supporting participants from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, providing inclusive opportunities to be active and engaged.
Through structured soccer-based activities, exercises, and games, One Ball helps participants build skills, confidence, friendships, and a strong sense of belonging.
The program emphasizes cooperation, self-control, self-discipline, perseverance, respect, integrity, and fair play, supported by mentoring from coaches.
One Ball also aims to foster positive cross-cultural relationships by integrating young people of all religions, cultures, and genders through fun, inclusive sporting activities.One Ball is seeking a skilled and community-minded volunteer to help us evaluate and communicate the impact of our football programs across Melbourne.This is a short-term, project-based chance for someone with experience or an interest in evaluation, social research, public health, community development, education, social work or a related field.The role will involveAttending our programs in Port Melbourne,



Cranbourne and Maribyrnong twice at each locationSpeaking with parents and supporting them to complete short feedback surveysInterviewing parents, players and coaches about their experiencesDeveloping one family case study featuring a parent and playerDeveloping two coach case studiesIdentifying key outcomes, themes and participant storiesPreparing a short evaluation and impact summary for One BallWe're looking for someone whoCommunicates confidently with families and coaches from culturally diverse backgroundsHas experience with interviews, surveys, case studies or qualitative researchCan turn feedback into clear, engaging and evidence-based storiesIs respectful when handling consent, confidentiality and personal informationCan attend weekend sessions across the three locationsHolds a current Working with Children Check or is willing to obtain oneThis is an unpaid volunteer position.
One Ball will cover reasonable transportation and other approved project-related expenses.The role would suit a university student, postgraduate researcher, early-career evaluator or experienced professional interested in contributing their skills to a community organisation making football more accessible for children and families.
