IM Partners is recruiting on behalf of Connekt Plumbing for an experienced Hydraulic Services Designer / Design Lead (Plumbing) to take ownership of the business's hydraulic design capability.This is a rare opportunity for someone who understands both hydraulic design and the practical realities of construction.
You may already be leading a design function, or you may be an experienced hydraulic designer, senior drafter or technically strong plumbing professional ready to step into a broader leadership position.The successful applicant will work closely with Connekt's Construction Manager, Project Managers and site teams to coordinate design outcomes, resolve technical issues and improve the way hydraulic projects are designed and delivered.The opportunityYou will take the lead across hydraulic design and drafting for commercial and industrial projects, including:Hydraulic services design, drafting and project coordinationShop drawings, site set-outs and as-built documentationResolving design queries with project and site teamsCoordinating documentation throughout the project lifecycleEnsuring designs comply with applicable Australian codes and standardsImproving design, drafting and document-control processesIdentifying and implementing new technology, software and automationSupporting the preparation of O&M; manuals, room data manuals, ITPs and other project documentationMentoring drafting personnel and helping build Connekt's internal design capabilityThis is not simply a drafting role.

introduce better ways of working and help develop a high-performing internal design team.About youWe are interested in speaking with candidates who can demonstrate:Practical experience in hydraulic design, drafting, plumbing or design coordinationStrong knowledge of commercial construction and hydraulic servicesThe ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and technical requirementsExperience using CAD, Revit, 3D modelling or comparable design softwareAn understanding of relevant Australian codes and standardsStrong coordination, problem-solving and communication skillsThe ability to work effectively with Project Managers, site teams, consultants and clientsAn interest in technology, process improvement and developing design capabilityYou may have several years of hydraulic design experience, or you may have developed equivalent capability through a combination of design, drafting, project coordination and practical construction experience.Certificate IV in Design Engineering or a comparable design or technical qualificationCertificate III in Plumbing or equivalent on-job experienceCandidates who do not meet every listed criterion but have strong hydraulic, construction or technical design capability are encouraged to apply.Why consider Connekt?
