About The Role
This is a part time position (22.5 hours per week), days of work are negotiable, fixed term until 30 June **** and is based in Nowra.
Peer Workers work within the Grand Pacific Health (GPH) mental health teams to provide open and effective support to people accessing or considering connection to GPH mental health services.

Duties
Provide peer support by drawing on lived experience of mental health challenges, recovery, and service use to build meaningful relationships and support consumers in their recovery journey.
Purposefully and appropriately share personal lived experience to foster connection, mutual learning, hope, and empowerment.
Advocate for consumers by contributing the lived experience perspective to multidisciplinary teams and supporting service and program improvements.
Skills & Experience
Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (or commencement or a willingness to work towards qualification within first 6 months of employment).
Direct lived experience of life changing mental health challenges, mental health service use, as well as periods of healing and personal recovery.
Commitment to safely and purposely share lived experience to engender hope and support others on their personal recovery journey.
Thorough understanding of the importance of personal and professional boundaries, ethical behaviour, policies, and procedures
