About the Role
As the Coordinator Playspaces and Landscapes, you will play a key role in enhancing some of Casey's most valued community assets.
As a key stakeholder in the planning, delivery and primary driver of continuous improvement of playspaces, active recreation.
public art and significant landscapes, you will lead maintenance contract performance, conduct works to comply with relevant standards and provide expert advice across Council.
Working collaboratively with internal departments, you will act as Casey's subject matter expert for playspaces and children's outdoor environments, supporting the delivery of safe, attractive and engaging community spaces for our growing municipality.
This role requires availability to work from 7:00am to 4:00pm.
What You'll deliver
Lead and manage contracts for playspace, public art and landscape maintenance services, ensuring compliance with specifications and Australian Standards from planning and procurement, construction and maintenanceCoordinate and supervise contractors delivering maintenance, upgrades, inspections and risk assessment programsManage the delivery of minor capital works projects from planning and procurement through to construction and commissioningLead and support a team including Playground Officers and Open Space Audit Officers, ensuring effective work planning and service deliveryManage operational and capital budgets while responding to customer requests, stakeholder priorities and asset improvement opportunities
What You'll Bring
Qualifications and/or significant experience in playspaces, public landscape maintenance or a related fieldDemonstrated experience in contract supervision, contractor management and service delivery oversightProven leadership experience with the ability to motivate teams,
allocate resources and prioritise work programsExperience managing operational and capital budgets and delivering projects within agreed timeframesStrong knowledge of playspace, public open space and landscape asset management practicesExcellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills with the ability to work across a diverse range of internal and external customersExperience working within children's outdoor environments and understanding associated safety requirementsLevel 2 Operational Playground Safety Inspector qualification, or willingness to obtain within the first six monthsCurrent Victorian Driver LicenceWillingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and Eligibility to Work check.
