The OpportunityTurn your passion for marine animal welfare into a rewarding career at Sea World.
$***** per hour | Part TimeSea World, Main Beach, Gold CoastAs a Marine Animal Specialist at Sea World, you'll provide exceptional care, enrichment and husbandry to support the health, wellbeing and welfare of our marine animals.
Working as part of a dedicated team, you'll contribute to behavioural management and enrichment programs designed to support positive welfare outcomes, while also sharing responsibility for delivering engaging live presentations, keeper talks and interactive guest experiences that inspire appreciation and understanding of marine life.
You'll have the prospect to support important conservation, rescue and rehabilitation initiatives through the Sea World Foundation, making a positive impact both within our animal care programs and the wider community.Key ResponsibilitiesDelivering daily animal husbandry, enrichment and exhibit maintenance activities to support the health and wellbeing of marine animals.Applying behavioral management and positive reinforcement techniques to encourage positive welfare outcomes.Assisting with food preparation, storage, stock rotation, ordering and bulk deliveries to maintain operational requirements.Supporting the development and delivery of animal presentations and interactive guest experiences.Participating in marine animal rescue and rehabilitation activities through the Sea World Foundation as required.Maintaining clean, safe and organised animal habitats, facilities and work areas.Building and maintaining a strong understanding of marine animal care,



welfare and enrichment best practices.What We're Looking ForRelevant tertiary qualifications or a Certificate III in Wildlife and Exhibited Animal Care – essentialBlue Card is essential* (Please be advised that the cost of a Blue Card is currently $******)A current Queensland Open C Class Driver's License – essentialKnowledge of animal behavior, behavioral management and positive reinforcement techniques – desirableA Recreational Marine Boat License - desirableA Forklift License - desirableA strong understanding of animal husbandry practices and a commitment to maintaining high animal welfare standards.Experience in public speakingAvailable to work on any day including weekendsCandidates who progress through the first and second round interviews will be required to complete both
(a) a Fitness for Work Assessment and
(b) a Psychometric Assessment (DISC).
These assessments are conducted at VRTP's expense and form part of the overall recruitment process.
Please note that the results of these assessments are not used in isolation to make hiring decisions.
