With ambitious growth plans across Australia and the APAC region, we’re looking for an experienced leader to take ownership of our national On‑Site Field Services function.
This role can be based in Adelaide or Perth.
Reporting to the Services Operations Manager, this is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving the operational performance, profitability, and growth of Normet’s On‑Site Field Services business.
You’ll lead a geographically dispersed team of Field Service Technicians, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of field service operations while building strong customer partnerships and identifying new business opportunities.
Working closely with internal stakeholders and customers alike, you will play a critical role in strengthening partnerships, enhancing service performance, and supporting Normet’s continued growth across the region.

What You’ll Be Leading
Field Service Operations Management
Lead and coordinate all On‑Site Field Service activities within Australia and where needed throughout the APAC region.
Develop and maintain On‑Site services schedules and rosters, allocating resources to maximise utilisation, customer responsiveness and operational efficiency.
Work closely with Service Centre Managers and Parts & Service Support Representative (PSSR) to optimise resource deployment and customer support.
Manage new equipment commissioning resource and schedule in consultation with Service Centre Manager /Workshop Managers to understand commissioning schedule.
Lead and develop a high‑performing national Field Service Technicians team by setting clear expectations, providing coaching and regular feedback, and fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and alignment with Normet’s values.
Ensure employees are appropriately trained, competent, and equipped to perform their roles safely and effectively while maintaining workforce capability through succession planning, resource readiness,
and compliance with all operational and customer requirements.
Deliver strong financial performance through agreed revenue, gross margin and profitability targets including drafting and managing the approved operating budget.
Monitor operational performance through KPI management and regular agreed reporting including; Utilisation, revenue recovery, response times, work order completion, project profitability.
Provide monthly operational reports to management.
Drive data integrity and reporting discipline throughout the organisation.
Customer Engagement and Business Development
Develop strategic customer relationships and support business growth.
Partner with the Sales team to identify customer opportunities aligned with On‑Site service capabilities.
Support the development and management of an on‑site service opportunity pipeline.
Assist in converting service opportunities into revenue‑generating work while ensuring customer expectations are managed and exceeded where possible.
Resource Readiness and Compliance
Maintain a national readiness matrix ensuring the following are included; site inductions, medicals, competencies, trade qualifications, licenses, training requirements and site access requirements.
Ensure all field personnel remain compliant with customer and legislative requirements.
Coordinate travel, accommodation, flights, and site access arrangements to support operational requirements.
Collaborate with relevant functions where appropriate including People & Culture and Health & Safety.
Project Management and Work Orders
Oversee the creation and management of work orders within ERP and On‑Site Service systems, ensuring all jobs are correctly raised, planned, executed, tracked, and closed.
Verify labour, parts, travel, subcontractor costs, and supporting documentation are accurately captured.
Ensure project profitability through effective cost control and timely invoicing.
Monitor project progress and ensure completion within agreed timeframes.
Drive continuous improvement and business transformation initiatives.
Identify and implement improvements to on‑site service systems, processes, and reporting.
Drive standardisation and operational excellence across all service locations.
Support business transformation initiatives and technology adoption.
Promote data‑driven decision making throughout the service organisation.
About You
You are a proven operational leader with the ability to motivate teams, build customer confidence and deliver strong business outcomes.
You bring both commercial acumen and practical operational experience and understand what great service delivery looks like in demanding, customer‑focused environments.
You’ll Bring:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Service Management, Operations Management or Field Service leadership role.
- Expertise in resource planning, scheduling and workforce management.
- Experience managing operational performance, budgets and profitability.
- Experience in mining, construction, or heavy equipment industry.
- Understanding of work orders, parts management, and scheduling.
- Experience in leading a team with a solid understanding of people management and the employee life cycle.
- Strong customer engagement and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience using ERP, service management or operational systems.
Highly Desirable:
- Previous experience working in the Field Service area.
- Exposure to commissioning, maintenance or technical service operations.
Additional Information
Flexibility to travel interstate is required.
