Join a growing business backed by the strength & investment of the Ahrens Group

- Lead large-scale construction projects from award to completion

Lead Major Projects. Build High-Performing Teams. Shape What Comes Next.

Our client, Farrelly Construction Services, has built a strong reputation for delivering complex construction and maintenance projects across heavy industry. Now backed by the Ahrens Group, one of Australia’s largest privately owned construction and engineering organisations, the business is entering an important phase of growth.

This is more than a project delivery role. It is an opportunity to join a business with strong foundations, increased backing and a clear appetite to keep building its capability, systems, people and project delivery standards.

For an experienced Project Manager, this means genuine influence. You will have the opportunity to lead major industrial projects, strengthen delivery practices, support the development of high-performing teams and play a visible role in the continued growth of the organisation.

About the Role

As Project Manager, you will take ownership of the safe, commercial and operational delivery of major construction projects from award through to completion.

You will lead multidisciplinary project teams, manage key client and subcontractor relationships, and be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, profitably and to a high standard.

Working closely with senior leadership, you will also contribute to the broader growth of the business by helping to lift project delivery standards, improve systems and processes, and build strong,

accountable teams capable of supporting future expansion.

This is a role for someone who wants to do more than manage a project plan. You will be joining a business where your leadership, commercial discipline and ability to bring people together will directly influence both project outcomes and the future capability of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the delivery of construction projects across safety, quality, budget and schedule.
- Drive a strong safety-first culture across project teams and subcontractors.
- Manage project budgets, forecasting, cost control and commercial performance.
- Oversee contract administration, variations, claims and project reporting.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, resource plans and delivery frameworks.
- Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Lead, mentor and develop project teams to achieve high performance and accountability.
- Identify project risks early and implement practical solutions to keep projects on track.
- Contribute to continuous improvement across systems, processes and project delivery standards.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager who combines solid technical capability with calm, commercially focused leadership.

You will be confident leading complex industrial and maintenance construction projects and comfortable operating in a business that is growing, evolving and continuing to strengthen the way it delivers.

You will ideally bring:

- 10+ years’ experience within mechanical construction, heavy industry or industrial projects.
- At least 5 years’ experience leading projects and high-performing teams.
- A trade or engineering background.
- Strong commercial and contractual management experience.
- Demonstrated success delivering projects safely, profitably and on schedule.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- The ability to bring structure, accountability and momentum to project delivery.
- A proactive leadership style and genuine commitment to developing people.

What You’ll Receive

- A genuine leadership position within a growing business.
- The opportunity to influence how major projects are delivered.
- Career progression as the organisation continues to expand.
- Diverse, technically challenging projects across heavy industry.
- Solid executive support and investment in continuous improvement.
- The chance to build capability across teams, systems and delivery standards.
- A cooperative, values-driven culture where accountability and initiative are recognised.
- An attractive remuneration package reflective of your experience.

We encourage applications from all backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, individuals identifying as LGBTQIA+, women, people of all ages, those living with disabilities, and individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
