Job Title: Financial Accountant (ACA Qualified)

Overview:

I’m currently partnering with an innovative, fast-scaling fintech based in Melbourne to find a sharp and commercially minded Financial Accountant (ACA qualified). This is a unique opportunity for someone looking to move into a dynamic, tech-driven environment that blends the pace of a start-up with the stability of a regulated financial services business.

The Role:

This is a hands-on accounting position with real breadth. You'll be responsible for core financial reporting, statutory compliance, and internal controls, with exposure to stakeholders across the business to provide insights and improve processes.

If you’re looking to combine technical strength with commercial exposure, this role offers both.

Key Responsibilities:

- Preparation of monthly management accounts and supporting analysis.
- Ownership of balance sheet reconciliations and month-end processes.
- Support with annual statutory accounts and coordination of external audits.
- Ensure compliance with AASB/IFRS and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
- Drive improvements in systems, reporting, and financial processes.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

- Strong technical grounding, ideally from a Big 4 firm,



and exposure to commercial finance.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to interpret complex financial information.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.
- Proficient in up-to-date financial systems (e.g., Xero, Net Suite) and Excel.
- Strong communicator and team player with a proactive, solution-focused mindset.

- Familiarity with capital raising, investor reporting, or R&D; claims.
