Cloud Dev Ops Engineer

We're partnering with a enterprise sized State Government Departmentto find a Cloud Dev Ops Engineer to join their team, a group focused on modernising customer systems and building the secure, scalable delivery foundations that let AI-enabled capabilities move from prototype to production.

This is a hands‐on engineering role for someone who genuinely believes in Dev Ops and Git Ops principles and wants to own the delivery pipeline end to end, not just support it.

What you'll be doing

- Designing and building CI/CD pipelines using Git Hub Actions
- Implementing Infrastructure as Code with Terraform
- Championing Dev SecOps and Git Ops practices across the team
- Managing cloud environments through automation (AWS, with exposure to Confluent and Azure)
- Working across containers and serverless architectures for artifact builds and orchestration
- Building out monitoring and observability to keep an eye on performance and reliability
- Helping shape internal Dev Ops standards and reusable delivery patterns
- Supporting operational readiness for AI-enabled platforms — improving deployment reliability, environment consistency and supportability

What you'll bring

- Strong hands‐on AWS experience (VPC, IAM, ECS, serverless)
- Solid Terraform skills — provisioning, state management, locking, and writing clean, modular HCL
- Advanced Git skills,



comfortable with branching strategies, PRs and code review
- Scripting ability in Python and Bash (Java or Node.js a bonus)
- A good grasp of networking fundamentals — DNS, CIDR, subnets, firewalls, load balancing
- Security‐conscious coding practices, including solid secrets management
- Strong communication skills and genuine comfort working across business, delivery, architecture and security stakeholders

Nice to have

- AWS or Terraform certification
- Kafka/Confluent experience
- Azure and Azure AD exposure
- Database experience (Oracle, DB2, DynamoDB)
- Familiarity with AI/ML tooling, AWS Bedrock, graph databases (Neo4j) or data platforms like Snowflake, plus DBT
