Description

As a General Manager - Procurement, you'll lead the development and execution of enterprise procurement strategy while championing a modern, efficient, and insight-driven procurement function.

You'll drive organisational change, strengthen procurement governance, oversee strategic sourcing and supplier management, and ensure robust third-party risk practices aligned to regulatory obligations.

You’ll partner closely with executive leaders, governance forums, and key stakeholders across the organisation to embed value-for-money decision making, optimise supplier outcomes, and strengthen procurement capability. You’ll also play a key role in evolving procurement technology, analytics, and automation to support future growth and operational excellence.

This role presents an opportunity to influence organisational strategy, lead a high-performing team, and ensure procurement delivers measurable value, innovation, and positive member outcomes.

This role is a permanent opportunity and is based in Brisbane or Sydney.

Responsibilities

- Lead and execute the enterprise procurement strategy aligned to organisational goals and member outcomes.
- Provide strategic procurement advice to executive leadership and governance forums.
- Oversee strategic sourcing, category management, and complex supplier negotiations.
- Lead the third-party risk management framework and outsourcing governance obligations.
- Drive procurement transformation, process optimisation, and technology enablement.
- Establish and oversee robust contract lifecycle management practices.
- Monitor procurement performance, savings, spend, and supplier outcomes through data and analytics.




- Build and develop a high-performing procurement team focused on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with Risk, Legal, Compliance, and business leaders to manage procurement and supplier risk.
- Champion ESG, responsible procurement, and sustainable supply chain practices.

Qualifications

It goes without saying you'll be a excellent communicator with top-notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:

- You have significant senior procurement leadership experience within financial services, superannuation, banking, insurance, or similarly regulated environments.
- Your expertise includes strategic sourcing, category management, supplier governance, and contract management.
- You'll bring deep knowledge of APRA prudential standards, particularly CPS 230 and SPS 231.
- You're experienced in leading enterprise-wide transformation, change management, and capability uplift programs.
- You have successfully led complex, high-value commercial negotiations and supplier engagements.
- Your commercial acumen enables you to balance value creation, risk management, and member outcomes.
- You’ll possess strong knowledge of procurement technologies, automation, analytics, and emerging industry trends.




- You're capable of influencing executive stakeholders and driving behavioural change across large organisations.
- You have experience building and developing high-performing, inclusive teams.
- Your understanding of ESG, responsible procurement, modern slavery, and third-party risk management is highly developed.
