This is your chance to take the reins of two award-recognised Leisureplexes that connect more than 1.4 million visitors each year with sport, recreation and healthy lifestyle opportunities. About the role This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an ambitious and experienced leisure, recreation or aquatic professional who is passionate about creating outstanding community outcomes. Reporting to the Service Lead Leisure Facilities, the Coordinator Operations provides strategic and operational leadership across customer experience, aquatic operations and creche services at both Cannington Leisureplex and Riverton Leisureplex. Leading a team comprising the Team Leader Leisure Customer Experience, Team Leader Aquatics and Supervisor Children's Services, you will be responsible for shaping the delivery of services that encourage participation, support healthy lifestyles and create positive experiences for every visitor. Designed with the community in mind, our Leisureplex's are important community assets that welcome more than 1.4 million visitors each year.
This role is instrumental in ensuring our facilities continue to deliver secure, innovative and customer-focused services while driving operational excellence, commercial performance and community engagement.A snapshot of your new role: Lead the delivery of aquatic, customer experience and creche services across Cannington and Riverton Leisureplexes. Provide strategic direction to ensure services remain commercially competitive, innovative and customer focused. Drive operational excellence, facility compliance, risk management and service improvement initiatives. Oversee budgets, financial performance, reporting and business planning across key service areas. Leading workforce planning, recruitment, training, performance development and succession planning activities. Champion a culture that prioritises customer experience,
community engagement and continuous improvement. What you will bring to the role: Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop teams, manage staff performance, resolve conflict, and contribute to a positive, accountable and customer-focused team culture. Demonstrated experience in aquatic, recreation or leisure centre operations, including the ability to manage day-to-day operational requirements, respond to emergency, hazardous or reactive operational issues, and contribute to strategic planning that improves safety, compliance, customer service and overall facility performance. Demonstrated experience in financial management, including budget monitoring, revenue and expenditure control, reporting, and the ability to make informed decisions that support strong financial outcomes and sustainable service delivery. Demonstrated experience in planning, prioritising and coordinating asset renewal works within an aquatic, recreation or leisure centre environment, including the ability to balance short-term operational needs with long-term facility planning, service continuity, safety, compliance and customer impacts. Demonstrated experience in membership management within a health, fitness, aquatic or leisure environment, including customer experience, retention, membership systems, reporting and processes that support strong participation, engagement and service outcomes. Proven high-level organisational skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate personal and team workflows and meet deadlines. Your training and qualifications: Tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Recreation, Leisure, Physical Education, or demonstrated equivalent competency or at least 5 years’ experience in a similar Leisure and or Sports Facility Management role.
Pool Lifeguard Qualification (Royal Life Saving Society or Equivalent)Group 1 Pool Operators Certificate (Royal Life Saving WA or Equivalent)Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus certification Provide First Aid certificate and CPR. Current Accreditation with LIWA Aquatics to the satisfaction of the Health Department of Western Australia Current Satisfactory National Police Clearance.
