About the role
Mater Private Hospital Gold Coast is seeking a Registered Nurse to work within our 30-bed Medical ward. This position will be employed on a casual basis. Mater has finalised the strategic acquisition of Healthscope's Gold Coast Private Hospital, this is a significant milestone in Mater's commitment to delivering exceptional and compassionate care to Queensland communities.
Based at our Gold Coast Campus, this role will be part of our state-of-the-art 339 bed facility located in Southport. This facility was established in 2016 and offers a wide range of specialities across Emergency, Medical Services, Orthopaedics, Bariatrics, Neurosurgery, Plastics, ENT, General Surgery, Obstetrics, Cardiac Care and Oncology.
Salary range: $44.06 - $56.52 per hour plus casual loading and +
What you'll be doing
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, our Registered Nurses make up a vital and respected part of the nursing team at Mater. Key duties and responsibilities will include:
- Delivering and evaluating evidence-based nursing care within your scope of practice
- Advocating for patients through education, informed consent, and shared decision-making
- Act as a patient advocate ensuring patients are informed and consent is gained prior to procedures
- Contribute to the maintenance of an environment which promotes safety, security and personal integrity of individual patients and groups
- Maintain and adhere to Infection Control policies and practices
- Complies with organisational policies, procedures, work instructions and guidelines
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
- Minimum of 1 post grad experience working within an acute medical setting
- High level skills in problem-solving, communication, coordination and time management
- The ability to contribute effectively and efficiently within a busy, multidisciplinary team environment
- Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate patient care and competency in clinical problem solving
- Available to work across all shifts
- Demonstrated competency in written and verbal communications and the ability to maintain accurate clinical and assessment data
