About the role:

We are seeking a motivated planning professional with knowledge of the NSW planning system, an understanding of the development application process, and a sound grasp of town planning principles to join our Development Assessment team.

In this role, you will help shape sustainable and vibrant communities by delivering high-quality planning outcomes and applying relevant legislation, policies, standards and codes. You will assess development applications, support timely and balanced planning decisions, and contribute to the creation of well-connected, safe and desirable places. The role also involves building strong relationships with the community, developers, government agencies and internal stakeholders, while supporting effective communication and collaboration across the City Planning and Environment division.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:





- Tertiary qualifications in Town / Urban Planning or other related field.
- Sound working knowledge of town planning concepts, urban design principles and regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrated job related experience in an appropriate related field. • Highly developed interpersonal, communication, organisational and time management skills.
- Computer literacy and excellent report writing skills.
- Effective analytical and innovative problem solving skills and a highly developed ability to interpret relevant legislation.
- Highly developed skills to implement and monitor procedures/processes and policies affecting the section.
- Current class C Driver Licence.
