FGI is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial strategy and performance across our growing group of businesses, including FGI Resources & FGI Mining

Based in Cairns CBD, this role will operate at both a strategic and hands-on level across multiple entities and diverse operations.

About the Role

Reporting to the Managing Director, the CFO will lead all financial operations and provide strategic insight to drive sustainable growth and performance across the business.

You will oversee financial governance, reporting, compliance, and commercial decision-making, while supporting operational leadership across project-based environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead financial strategy, planning, and performance across all business entities

- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management across group operations

- Ensure compliance with all statutory, taxation, and financial reporting requirements





- Provide strategic financial advice to the Managing Director and leadership team

- Oversee audit processes, corporate governance, and risk management frameworks

- Support project costings, job costing, and commercial decision-making

- Drive improvements across financial systems, reporting, and processes

- Manage and develop finance teams across multiple locations

- Provide insight to support growth, investment decisions, and new business opportunities

About You

You are a commercially driven finance leader with a strong ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on execution in a growing, multi-entity environment.

- CPA qualified (essential)

- Proven experience in a CFO or Senior Finance Leadership role

- Strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, and cashflow management

- Experience managing multi-entity or group financial structures

- High-level commercial acumen with exposure to project-based environments

- Ability to partner with operational leaders and influence decision-making

- Excellent leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
