Summation is an independent engineering consultancy working across energy and sustainability. We're growing, and we're looking for a senior sustainability consultant or engineer to join our team.
We're a small firm by design. Every project is led by a director or senior consultant, and clients deal directly with the people doing the work, not account managers. This role reports directly to our Director of Sustainability, so you'll be working alongside someone with over two decades in the field.
Why join us
- Direct mentoring and day-to-day involvement with a Director of Sustainability with 20+ years of experience
- Broad, varied project work rather than being siloed into one certification type
- No bureaucracy — you'll manage your own workload and have real input into how projects are run
- Support from the wider team when you need it. You can draw on colleagues to help deliver projects, so it doesn't all fall on you.
- Support for ongoing professional development and accreditation
The role
You'll work on a mix of certification, compliance, and strategy work, including:
- Green Star, NABERS, and WELL Building Standard assessment and certification
- NCC energy efficiency compliance assessment and certification
- Carbon action plans, net zero roadmaps, and corporate ESG strategy
- Building simulation modelling for energy performance and life cycle carbon
- Life cycle assessments and environmental impact assessments for building projects
You'll also work directly with clients, understand what they need, present findings and recommendations yourself, and stay current on sustainable building technologies and standards so you can bring that knowledge into projects as they develop.
About you
- Full working rights in Australia
- A relevant degree in engineering, sustainability, architecture or environmental science
- 5+ years' post-graduate experience in Australia
- NABERS Accredited Assessor and/or Green Star Accredited Skilled accreditation
- Strong working knowledge of the NCC's energy efficiency provisions
- Comfortable managing your own workload and deadlines with minimal oversight
- A collaborative approach — you'll work closely with clients and colleagues, not just produce reports in isolation
- Genuine interest in the technical side of the work
This is a full-time role based in our Perth CBD office. Applications close once we find the right candidate.
