Someone who can support a staff member after a difficult shift, build trust with a family doing it tough, confidently navigate complex situations and continually look for ways to improve the quality of the supports we provide.

This isn’t a role where you’ll spend your days sitting behind a desk managing paperwork.

It’s a hands-on leadership position where relationships, communication and emotional intelligence matter just as much as experience.

As our organisation continues to grow across community supports and Supported Independent Living (SIL), we’re looking for someone who wants to become a key part of our leadership team and help shape the future of Your Choice Matters.

About the Role

This role will become one of the key leadership positions within YCM.

You’ll work closely with our Director and leadership team to oversee the day-to-day delivery of services across our organisation.

Every day will be different.

One morning you might be supporting a staff member following a challenging behavioural incident.

Later that afternoon you could be meeting with a participant’s family,



attending a stakeholder meeting, visiting one of our SIL homes or coaching a support worker through a difficult situation.

The role is centred around people.

Building relationships.

Supporting staff.

Strengthening services.

Making good decisions.

Leading with confidence.

Your Responsibilities

- Provide day-to-day leadership across YCM’s community and SIL services.

- Support, mentor and develop support workers.

- Build trusted relationships with participants, families and key stakeholders.

- Lead difficult conversations professionally and respectfully.

- Respond to incidents and support staff following challenging situations.

- Identify patterns and address concerns before they become bigger issues.

- Attend participant reviews, stakeholder meetings and case discussions.

- Work closely with Behaviour Support Practitioners, Support Coordinators and Allied Health Professionals.

- Support service quality and continual improvement across the organisation.

- Help create an environment where both staff and participants feel genuinely supported.

About You

Experience within disability leadership is important, but who you are as a person matters even more.

We’re looking for someone who:

- Has experience leading teams within disability or a similar people-focused industry.

- Leads with emotional intelligence.

- Builds trust naturally.

- Communicates calmly and professionally.





- Is confident having difficult conversations.

- Supports people while still maintaining accountability.

- Takes ownership and follows through.

- Thinks proactively rather than reactively.

- Wants to continually improve themselves and those around them.

- Understands that every interaction contributes to the culture of an organisation.
